Mexican municipal leaders report on local welfare and infrastructure
Various municipal administrations in Mexico are reporting on local governance, infrastructure, and security initiatives.
In Puerto Morelos, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz highlighted social welfare achievements, including the delivery of 9,000 food packages and various medical and psychological services. In Toluca, Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida’s administration has conducted nearly 2,000 urban improvement sessions through the ‘Yo Pongo Guapa Toluca’ program. Local PT council members have expressed support for these efforts, citing improvements in water infrastructure and a reduction in certain crime rates.
In Apizaco, Mayor Javier Rivera Bonilla defended a 20 million peso investment for a bullring roof, asserting that funds are managed transparently alongside ongoing road repairs. Meanwhile, in Unión de Tula, Mayor Esther Torres Magaña requested a meeting with Governor Pablo Lemus to address perceived inequalities in the distribution of state resources.
In the capital, Cuauhtémoc Mayor Alessandra Rojo de la Vega launched a security operation for Independence Day celebrations. Additionally, Toluca authorities responded to a bus accident on Las Torres avenue that injured 25 people, prompting calls for stricter transport safety inspections.
