Toluwanisings death sparks legal threats and family burial dispute

The death of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, has led to legal threats from prominent entertainers and a dispute within his family regarding burial arrangements.

Comedians Ayobami Ajewole (Woli Agba), Olamide Oladimeji (Dele Omo Woli), and gospel singer Tope Alabi have all threatened legal action against individuals circulating social media allegations linking them to the singer's death. Legal representatives for the entertainers described the claims as false, defamatory, and unsubstantiated. Alabi’s lawyers issued a cease-and-desist to a Canada-based pastor, warning that international borders would not shield him from Nigerian legal procedures.

Simultaneously, Toluwanisings’ family is divided over his final resting place. His father has expressed a preference for the singer to be buried in the house he built or in Ikirun, Osun State, near his late mother. However, his wife reportedly prefers a cemetery in Ibadan. The singer's uncle has called on the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the death before any burial takes place.
