Toluwanisings: Nigerian gospel singer dies at 41

Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings, has died at the age of 41. His family confirmed his passing in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, via social media.

Reports indicate that the singer suddenly slumped and was rushed to several hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State. His personal assistant, Babadunni Olayemi, stated that the singer was taken to between seven and eight medical facilities, but some hospitals reportedly declined admission or cited an ongoing doctors' strike as a reason for being unable to provide care.

Toluwanisings was a prominent figure in the gospel music community, known for hits such as ‘A Very Big God’, ‘Eleda’, and ‘Unreserved Praise’. His death has led to the postponement or cancellation of several gospel music events, including the Invasion Praise Concert by Kaywonder and the 10th anniversary of Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure.

Colleagues, fans, and public figures, including comedian Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba) and lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi, have expressed profound grief. Additionally, the singer's management has issued a disclaimer disowning a viral fraudulent fundraising poster circulating online intended to solicit money for his family.
