Tom and Jerry exhibition opens at Kanazawa 21st Century Museum
The 85th‑anniversary "Tom and Jerry exhibition – You laugh, I laugh" opened on 31 July at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum’s Citizen Gallery A. Organized by the North Country Newspaper, the interactive showcase compresses the cartoon’s slap‑slap comedic world into hands‑on displays, including recreations of scenes with surf‑board‑shaped Tom models and balloon‑like Jerry figures. Visitors can pose with the characters, explore a cheese‑hole photo spot and view a timeline of episodes from the 1940s to recent releases.
Limited‑edition merchandise featuring local motifs such as Kaga‑Hachiman dolls, lion dance, and Kanazawa oden was also sold. The exhibition runs until 30 August, with admission priced at ¥1,500 for adults, ¥1,000 for secondary‑school students and ¥800 for primary‑school children. A sticker and exclusive items are offered with pre‑purchase tickets.
