Tomáš Berdych names Czech Davis Cup squad for finals

Czech Davis Cup captain Tomáš Berdych has announced the initial nominations for the final stage of the tournament in Bologna. The squad currently includes Jakub Menšík, Jiří Lehečka, Adam Pavlásek, and Patrik Rikl.

A fifth player has not yet been finalized, with Berdych considering Tomáš Macháč or Vít Kopřiva. Berdych noted that Macháč, who recently recovered from a foot injury, remains under consideration, and the captain intends to wait until closer to the event to ensure the best possible five-man roster.

The Czech team is scheduled to begin their campaign on November 24 with a quarterfinal match against Canada. The Canadian lineup is expected to feature Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov. Berdych expressed a desire to arrive in Italy on November 19 to allow for four days of training to adapt to the tournament's complex schedule and multiple courts.
