Tom Bradley elected to Cotswold District Council in Blockley by-election

Conservative candidate Tom Bradley has been elected to the Cotswold District Council following a by-election in the Blockley ward held on 24 September 2026. Bradley, who also serves as the Leader of the Conservative Group on Gloucestershire County Council, secured 54.7% of the vote.

The election results mark a significant shift in local representation. The Conservative Party reclaimed the seat from the Green Party, whose vote share decreased by 49.5%. This loss results in the Green Party losing its remaining representation on the Cotswold District Council.

Following the results, the political composition of the council stands at 22 Liberal Democrat councillors, 11 Conservative councillors, and 1 Independent councillor. The Liberal Democrats maintain their majority on the council.
