Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu promote new film ‘Digger’

Tom Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu are promoting their new satirical black comedy, ‘Digger’, which explores themes of climate change and political power. The film follows Digger Rockwell, an eccentric oil tycoon who attempts to position himself as a global savior after inadvertently triggering an ecological disaster.

Cruise has undergone a significant physical transformation for the role, utilizing extensive facial prosthetics and a padded bodysuit. He noted that the makeup process was particularly demanding, sometimes requiring hours of application. The film features an ensemble cast including Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, and Sandra Hüller.

Promotional activities have spanned a global tour, including a high-profile premiere in London attended by Prince William and Princess Kate, and a major fan event in Mexico City where Cruise engaged with hundreds of supporters. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in various regions throughout October 2026.
