Tom Cruise to visit Japan for ‘Digger’ promotion

Actor Tom Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu are scheduled to visit Japan from October 5 to October 7 to promote their upcoming film, ‘Digger’. The visit marks Cruise’s 26th trip to the country and coincides with ‘Tom Day’ on October 6, a Japanese anniversary celebrating the actor. For the first time, Cruise will be in Japan during this specific commemorative date.

To celebrate, a Japan premiere red carpet event and screening will be held, alongside one-night-only advance screenings at 355 theaters across the country. The premiere's stage greetings will be broadcast live to participating theaters.

In recent interviews, including with GQ, the 64-year-old actor has discussed the professional significance of ‘Digger’, describing the role of an oil tycoon as the most intense challenge of his career and a culmination of his acting skills. The film is set for release in Japan on October 9.
