Actor Tom Cruise is reportedly seeking to reunite on‑screen with his ex‑wife Nicole Kidman for the sequel to the 1990 racing film “Days of Thunder.” Insiders say discussions are under way about casting Kidman in “Days of Thunder 2,” which is officially in development and is expected to be directed by Jonathan Levine.

Kidman has not yet confirmed participation, but producers believe her involvement would increase the film’s commercial appeal, even if limited to a brief cameo. Cruise has indicated the decision rests with Kidman, describing the opportunity as a “big leap” for her.

The sequel is being positioned as a continuation of the original story, with Cruise reprising his role as rookie NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and Kidman’s character from the first film being a neurosurgeon who treated him after a crash.
