Tom Dufour regains ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup lead

Tom Dufour has reclaimed the lead in the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup following a dramatic turn of events at the ADAC Saarland-Palatinate Rally. Former championship leader Timo Schulz was forced to retire from the event after his Mokka slid into a ditch during the eleventh of fourteen special stages.

As a result of Schulz's retirement, Dufour and co-driver Alex Dubois moved to the top of the standings, holding a six-point advantage over Ioan Lloyd and co-driver Sion Williams heading into the season finale in Spa, Belgium. Schulz has dropped to third place in the overall championship.

Guest driver Max Reiter and co-driver Conny Nemenich secured the victory at the Saarland-Palatinate round. The event also featured the debut of Simon Gasslbauer and Lena Plattner, who finished among the top competitors in the Mokka GSE Rally category.
