Tom Holland calls some of his films “crap” and decries the smell of the Spider‑Man suit

Actor Tom Holland said he has sometimes lied to audiences to promote movies he considers “crap”. In a podcast interview he referenced his recent releases A Odisseia (2026) and the upcoming Spider‑Man: A New Day (2026), stating, “People shouldn’t see it, because it’s a crap film.” He added that he enjoys promoting projects he truly believes in.

During the same promotional tour Holland also revealed that the worst part of playing Spider‑Man is the odor of the costume after wearing it for twelve hours. He said, “The worst thing is definitely the smell,” and compared his suit to the earlier versions worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, noting they had more practical features such as better zippers and easier bathroom access.
