Tom Holland cites LEGO Batman as inspiration for Spider-Man

Actor Tom Holland has revealed that 'The LEGO Batman Movie' served as an unexpected inspiration for the tone of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'. Holland shared that he suggested a specific concept to director Destin Daniel Cretton to help portray a more human and isolated version of Peter Parker.

Inspired by a scene where Batman returns to a lonely home after fighting crime, Holland wanted to capture the contrast between the public persona of a superhero and the private solitude of the individual. He noted that this approach adds layers to the character, emphasizing a Peter Parker who lives in a city where he is largely unknown and faces quiet, lonely evenings.

In addition to discussing the film, Holland recently appeared in Madrid, Spain, to participate in a fan zone event organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation ahead of a World Cup match.
