Tom Holland says dehydration stunt left him grumpy while filming Spider‑Man bathhouse scene

Actor Tom Holland revealed that a self‑imposed dehydration routine before shooting a Russian‑style bathhouse sequence for the upcoming film *Spider‑Man: Brand New Day* made him feel “really grumpy.” The scene, in which Peter Parker (Spider‑Man) strips down to his mask and underwear to meet Florence Pugh’s character Yelena Belova, required Holland to forgo water the day before filming and then drink large amounts the next day. Holland said the effort proved pointless, noting that the physical discomfort did not improve his performance.

He added that co‑stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon were not present on set that day, which he welcomed as it avoided an awkward situation. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, follows a depressed Peter Parker whose identity has been erased, setting up a new conflict with a mysterious villain.
