Tom Holland says he'll keep playing Spider‑Man beyond age 30

Actor Tom Holland, who recently turned 30, reflected on a 2021 comment that playing Spider‑Man after that age would be "wrong." In a new interview he said the remark was more about eventually passing the role on, not stepping away, and noted he may even revise the informal age limit to 37. Holland described Spider‑Man as "the joy of my life" and said he will continue in the role as long as the studios want him.

He confirmed that his upcoming appearance will be in "Spider‑Man: Brand New Day," slated for release on 31 July 2026, and that work on Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of "The Odyssey" gave Marvel a six‑month window to further develop the new film. Holland suggested the original comment might have been a negotiating tactic to leverage Sony, adding that discussions about the character’s future are ongoing at the studio.
