Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz recount rapid romance and fairy‑tale marriage

Heidi Klum says she almost stayed home on a night in 2018, but attended fashion designer Michael Michalsky’s birthday party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. There she met musician Tom Kaulitz. She describes the encounter as a turning point, noting, “If I had stayed home, I would never have met my husband.”

The couple moved in together within two weeks, became engaged after six months, and married in a “fairy‑tale” ceremony in Italy a half‑year later. Kaulitz told an interview, “Bei Heidi und mir ging es von null auf hundert” (“With Heidi it went from zero to one‑hundred”). Klum emphasized that the 16‑year age gap never mattered and that the relationship feels like fate.

Their story has been highlighted across multiple German media outlets, focusing on the speed of their courtship, the wedding in Italy, and Klum’s view of the marriage as enduring and genuine.
