Tom King to end Wonder Woman run with issue #40

DC Comics has confirmed that writer Tom King and artist Daniel Sampere will conclude their Wonder Woman run with issue #40, scheduled for release on December 16, 2026. The final issue will mark the end of the “Wonder War” storyline.

King revealed that he originally intended to write 100 issues for the series but noted that his increasing workload with other DC projects, such as Lanterns and Mister Terrific, made completing the full 100-issue run impossible. Despite the shortened duration, King expressed that he is “incredibly happy and joyous” with how the run is concluding.

The run has been noted for introducing new characters to the DC Universe, including Diana Prince’s daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Prince (also known as Trinity), and the antagonist known as the Sovereign.
