Tom Kitten returns for second Memsie Stakes attempt

The Godolphin-owned gelding Tom Kitten is set to compete in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, marking a return to the race after being scratched last year due to becoming fractious in the barriers.

Trainer Sam Freedman noted that recent weather conditions in Melbourne have not been ideal for the horse's preparation. Freedman suggested that horses prepared in Sydney might hold an advantage due to warmer weather and better track access. While Tom Kitten has a strong record in first-up appearances, Freedman expects the horse to improve following this outing against a high-quality field, which includes several competitors from the Chris Waller and Ciaron Maher stables.
