Tom Morello endorses Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has expressed his support for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on social media. In an Instagram post featuring the text ‘Lula 26’, Morello encouraged followers to vote for the leader, using hashtags such as ‘#RockTheVote’ and ‘#Brazil’.

This is not the first time the musician has engaged in Brazilian politics; in 2022, he posted similar messages supporting Lula’s candidacy. Morello, a Harvard-educated political science graduate, has a long history of leftist activism and social engagement through his music and solo projects.

His endorsement has drawn mixed reactions from social media users. While several Brazilian musicians expressed support for the post, some followers expressed disappointment or criticized Morello for commenting on Brazilian politics without living in the country.
