Tom Pidcock suffers bee sting during training in Montreal

British cyclist Tom Pidcock shared a photo on Instagram showing a severely swollen lower lip following a training incident in Montreal. Pidcock jokingly described the event as having ‘got in a fight’, which was actually a sting from a bee or wasp.

The incident occurred as the Pinarello Q36.5 rider prepares for the upcoming World Championships road race. Pidcock has demonstrated strong recent form, including a victory at the Mountain Bike World Championships in late August and a win at the GP Industria & Artigianato. He also recently secured 4th place in Quebec and 6th in the Montreal dress rehearsal.

With Tadej Pogacar not participating, the race control is expected to shift toward Belgian and French riders, potentially creating tactical opportunities for Pidcock and the Great Britain team.
