Tom Roehl discusses FDP politics and career transition
Former FDP politician Tom Roehl discussed his political career and views on party leadership in a recent podcast interview. Roehl, who served on the Castrop-Rauxel city council for five years, lost his seat and his position on the district council during the September 2025 local elections after falling short by approximately 120 votes.
During the discussion, Roehl reflected on his time with the Young Liberals (JuLis) and his experiences as a Bundestag candidate. He also shared his perspectives on FDP leadership figures, including Christian Lindner and Wolfgang Kubicki, as well as his stance on the ‘Brandmauer’ (firewall) in German politics.
