Tom Selleck joins Ted Danson and Elizabeth Banks in Apple TV+ comedy

Tom Selleck will guest star in an upcoming, untitled Apple TV+ comedy series, marking his first television role since the conclusion of Blue Bloods. The project reunites Selleck with Ted Danson, his co-star from the 1987 film ‘Three Men and a Baby’.

Created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, the series stars Elizabeth Banks as Heidi, a woman attempting to rebuild her life following a difficult divorce. The plot involves Heidi navigating her father’s retirement community activities, played by Danson. While Selleck’s specific character details remain undisclosed, he joins an ensemble cast that includes Katey Sagal, Rob Delaney, and Jared Goldstein, with recurring roles for Simu Liu and Michelle Buteau.

The series is produced by 20th Television and executive produced by Banks through her Brownstone Productions banner. This move follows Selleck’s 15-season tenure as Frank Reagan on the CBS drama Blue Bloods.
