Tom Selleck Criticizes CBS Over Blue Bloods Cancellation After Cast Took 25% Pay Cut

Actor Tom Selleck told Ted Danson on the "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" podcast that the cast of the CBS police drama *Blue Bloods* agreed to a 25 percent salary reduction in an effort to keep the series on the air. He said the entire ensemble, including Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan and Will Estes, made the concession during the show's final year, hoping for another season.

Despite those efforts, CBS announced the series would end in November 2023. The 14th and final season was split into two parts, with the series finale airing in December 2024. Selleck described the cancellation as "very frustrating," noting the show ranked sixth among the top‑100 broadcast programs in its fifteenth year and that the cast had remained intact for the entire run, a rarity in television.

Selleck also mentioned the spin‑off *Boston Blue*, featuring Wahlberg’s character Danny Reagan, which premiered in October 2025, continuing the Reagan family storyline.
