Tom Selleck Says 25% Pay Cut Couldn't Save 'Blue Bloods' from CBS Cancellation

Actor Tom Selleck explained that despite the cast of the CBS police procedural 'Blue Bloods' taking a 25 percent salary cut, the series was still cancelled by the network in November 2023. The show, which followed the Reagan family of New York law‑enforcement officers for 14 seasons, had remained popular, ranking sixth among broadcast television programs in its fifteenth year.

Selleck described the cancellation as "frustrating," noting that the entire ensemble wanted to stay on and that the series’ final season was split into two parts, with the finale airing in December 2024. He added that the cast’s efforts to lower the budget were insufficient to keep the show alive.
