Tomáš Souček signs contract extension with West Ham United
Tomáš Souček, the former captain of the Czech Republic national team, has signed a contract extension with West Ham United. The 31-year-old midfielder has committed to the London club until the summer of 2028.
Since joining West Ham from Slavia Prague in January 2020, Souček has made 285 competitive appearances and scored 47 goals. He was a key part of the squad that won the UEFA Conference League in 2023. Souček expressed his commitment to the club, stating, “West Ham United means so much to me. I have spent half of my football career here, almost seven years, and more will follow.”
West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo praised the midfielder, describing him as a “key figure” and an important personality in the dressing room with a winning mentality and professional example for younger players. Souček is currently returning to action following an injury sustained while playing for the Czech national team.
