Tom Waits releases new spoken‑word track “The Fly” with Massive Attack

Tom Waits has issued a new spoken‑word recording titled “The Fly”, a darkly comic meditation on the common housefly. The piece serves as the B‑side to Massive Attack’s collaboration single “Boots On The Ground”, which marked Waits’s first newly recorded original music since his 2011 album Bad As Me.

“The Fly” is now available on streaming platforms and will appear on a limited‑edition 12‑inch vinyl slated for 4 September. The vinyl uses Massive Attack’s EcoSonic manufacturing process to lower carbon impact and will be pressed in 180‑gram red, white or blue variants. Proceeds from the release are earmarked for civil‑rights and community‑advocacy organisations.
