Tomaž Deželak announces candidacy for Domžale mayor
Tomaž Deželak, a candidate for the SDS party, has officially announced his candidacy for mayor of the Domžale Municipality. Deželak, who has previously served as a municipal councilor and deputy mayor, presented an eight-year strategic development plan spanning 2026 to 2034.
The proposed plan is divided into two phases. The first phase, running until 2030, focuses on immediate infrastructure needs, including an extension for the Dob Primary School, a new protection and rescue center, new fire stations for PGD Domžale and PGD Rova, and flood safety measures. He also aims to implement free parking near the Domžale Health Center and renovate the local cinema.
The second phase, from 2030 to 2034, includes larger investments such as new primary schools in Preserje pri Radomljah and Vir, an underground garage beneath the marketplace with approximately 400 spaces, and the construction of 80 to 100 housing units for young people. Deželak’s platform also emphasizes improved support for the elderly, enhanced cycling and walking paths, and increased funding for local community centers.
