Tomas Casas wins Supersport as weather disrupts Canadian Superbike Championship
Severe weather, including threats of lightning and hail, forced an early end to the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship finale at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Saturday.
In the Pro Supersport class, Tomas Casas secured a vital victory in race one after leader Mavrick Cyr crashed out during changing conditions. The win strengthens Casas's position in the championship hunt.
In the GP Bikes Pro Superbike class, race one was halted after four laps due to worsening weather and was subsequently postponed to Sunday. The race will resume on Sunday with a new grid based on the lap four running order. The second Superbike race is scheduled to proceed as planned with the original grid. Several amateur classes were also postponed and will be rescheduled for Sunday morning.
