Tomasz Drużka Balances Mayoral Duties with Football Coaching

Tomasz Drużka, the wójt (mayor) of Gmina Głowno in central Poland, continues to devote time to football despite his full‑time municipal responsibilities. He trains and plays with LKS Sokół Popów, a club he has been associated with since 2003 as a player, coach and enthusiast.

Drużka earned his UEFA coaching licence in 2016 after a six‑month training program and maintains it through ongoing courses and conferences. Together with the Akademia Sportu Rozwój Głowno, he is working to create facilities for local children to develop their football skills. He cites his son, also a player, as additional motivation and describes viewing the sport from the perspectives of player, coach and parent.

He notes that while his mayoral duties—overseeing local administration, meeting residents and guiding development—occupy most of his day, he still attends weekly training sessions and weekend matches, balancing public service with his passion for the game.
