Tomasz Kammel reveals bladder cancer diagnosis following preventive scan
Polish television presenter Tomasz Kammel has revealed that he was diagnosed with malignant bladder cancer in March. The discovery was made incidentally during a preventive full-body MRI scan, which he underwent following encouragement from friends.
During the scan, doctors identified a tiny, two-millimeter abnormality in his bladder. Subsequent diagnostic steps, including contrast scans and cystoscopy, confirmed the presence of a malignant tumor. Because the cancer was detected at such an early stage, Kammel was able to undergo surgery within days and did not require chemotherapy. He recently shared that follow-up examinations showed no signs of recurrence.
Kammel expressed surprise at the diagnosis, noting that he maintains a healthy lifestyle, does not use substances, and has no genetic predisposition to the disease. He used his experience to urge the public to undergo regular medical screenings, emphasizing that early detection can be life-saving. His story prompted a response from actress Joanna Jabłczyńska, who noted that she had also undergone similar diagnostic testing to address health concerns.
