Tomasz Rzymkowski to join Confederation parliamentary club
Tomasz Rzymkowski is set to join the Confederation parliamentary club, specifically aligning with Sławomir Mentzen’s New Hope faction. This transfer follows months of negotiations and is expected to shift the internal balance of power within the club. Currently, the Confederation club is split evenly between New Hope and Krzysztof Bosak’s National Movement, with eight members each. Rzymkowski’s arrival would give the New Hope faction a numerical advantage.
The move has caused internal friction, as members of the National Movement reportedly expressed concerns regarding potential dominance by the New Hope faction. The transfer was reportedly facilitated by MEP Stanisław Tyszka. Rzymkowski, who is currently part of the Direct Democracy circle, is known for his work on ‘Project 27,’ which focuses on judicial reforms.
This shift also signals a fragmentation within the Direct Democracy circle. While Rzymkowski moves to Confederation, other members are pursuing different paths: Paweł Kukiz and Jarosław Sachajko are reportedly in contact with Mateusz Morawiecki and PiS, while Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski is considering joining either Confederation or Rozwój Plus.
