Tomateros de Culiacán bolster roster and win preseason matchup

The Tomateros de Culiacán are advancing their preseason preparations for the Mexican Pacific League. In Culiacán, the team has strengthened its roster with the arrival of right-handed pitcher Manny Barreda and catcher Ildefonso Ruíz.

Simultaneously, the squad competing in the ‘Baja Beis 2026’ preseason tournament in Los Cabos secured a second consecutive victory against the Cañeros de Los Mochis. The game, held on September 29, 2026, ended in an 8-7 win for Culiacán after a competitive matchup where the Tomateros maintained a lead through the middle innings before a late solo home run by Jayson Bass Jr. for Los Mochis narrowed the final margin.
