Tomato blight control tips for Czech gardeners

Czech gardeners are advised to monitor tomato plants closely after rain, avoiding evening watering to reduce leaf moisture that favours late blight. Early signs include small gray‑green spots and a faint white coating on the underside of leaves; without prompt action the disease can destroy a whole crop within two days.

Preventive measures include spraying a diluted milk solution (1 part milk to 5–10 parts water) on leaves, applying a baking‑soda mixture (about one teaspoon per litre of water, optionally with a few drops of liquid soap), and using garlic extracts. Infected foliage should be pruned and disposed of promptly, and plants should be spaced to ensure good airflow. Covering rows with a tarp or temporary shelter can further limit moisture. If blight appears, targeted fungicides may be used, but natural treatments are preferred for early stages.
