Amazon Games pushes Tomb Raider: Catalyst release to 2028

Amazon Games head Jeffrey Gattis confirmed that the next main‑line Tomb Raider title, **Tomb Raider : Catalyst**, will not launch in 2027 as originally scheduled but has been moved to 2028. The announcement came during an interview with The Game Business and follows an earlier delay of the franchise’s remake **Tomb Raider : Legacy of Atlantis**, now set for 12 February 2027.

Both games were unveiled at The Game Awards 2025 and are being developed by Crystal Dynamics (with Flying Wild Hog on the remake). Catalyst is built on Unreal Engine 5 and will appear on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, set in northern India after a mythic cataclysm. Amazon cited the need to avoid two Tomb Raider releases in the same calendar year and to give each title its own marketing window. The delay is also tied to Amazon’s strategy to strengthen its Luna cloud‑gaming platform with high‑profile franchises. Crystal Dynamics has not issued a separate statement.
