Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis slated for public demo and detailed development showcase
Actress Alix Wilton Regan, who provides the voice and motion‑capture for Lara Croft, hinted on social media that a public demo of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis could arrive soon, possibly at Gamescom 2026. The game, a full re‑imagining of the 1996 classic, is being developed by Crystal Dynamics in partnership with Flying Wild Hog and will run on Unreal Engine 5. It is targeted for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with a full release scheduled for 12 February 2027.
The fourth episode of the developers’ mini‑documentary series details the overhaul of Lara’s movement, acrobatics and control system. Designers explain the introduction of fluid animation transitions, new gadgets such as a grappling hook, and the extensive physical training undertaken by Regan for motion‑capture. The team aims to blend the classic platforming feel with modern, weight‑y physics while preserving the franchise’s iconic exploration spirit.
