Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis release set for February 12, 2027
The remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider game, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, has been officially delayed. Announced during Sony's State of Play showcase, the new launch window is February 12, 2027, pushing the title back from an earlier 2026 target.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics in partnership with Flying Wild Hog and published by Amazon Game Studios, the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Pre‑orders are open, offering three editions: a Standard version at $59.99 with a Survivor outfit bonus, a Deluxe version at $69.99 adding 48‑hour early access, a Parisian Fugitive outfit and post‑launch DLC, and a Collector's edition at $199.99 that includes a steel case, Lara Croft versus T‑Rex statue, mini art book and other memorabilia.
The developers cited a desire for higher quality and to avoid competing with other major releases as reasons for the postponement, but gave no further explanation.
