Tomelloso enhances cultural heritage and tourism initiatives
The city of Tomelloso is enhancing its cultural and tourism profile through two major initiatives. The Municipal Archive has completed the digitization of a collection of festival programs spanning 80 years, from 1920 to 2000. This collection, which includes 186 materials and 4,850 images such as brochures, postcards, and photographs, is now available to the public via the ‘Memoria de Tomelloso’ website. The archive features contributions from local cultural figures and artwork by notable artists including Antonio López García and Gregorio Prieto.
Additionally, Tomelloso has partnered with Renfe to launch a new tourist rail route. Starting November 14, 2026, the ‘Posada de Vid y Cultura’ train will transport visitors from Madrid to the Cinco Casas station. From there, travelers will be transferred by bus to participate in activities focused on local heritage, wine, and gastronomy, including visits to wineries, distilleries, and local museums. The project aims to become a stable tourism product by 2027, reintegrating the city into the national rail tourism network.
