Tomelloso hosts national tasting competitions for wine, cheese, melon, and brandy

The City Council of Tomelloso has opened registration for several national tasting competitions held as part of the ‘Tomelloso Sabor’ program. The events, scheduled to take place from October 16 to 18 at the Posada de los Portales, include competitions for melon, wine, cheese, and brandy.

Participants must be over 18 years old with Spanish nationality or legal residency in Spain. Registration costs 5 euros per competition, with a limit of 40 participants per category. The schedule begins with melon tasting on October 16, followed by wine and cheese on October 17, and concludes with brandy on October 18.

Prizes for the brandy, cheese, and melon competitions include 500 euros for first place, 250 euros for second, and 150 euros for third. The wine competition offers higher stakes, with 1,000 euros for the winner, 500 euros for second, and 250 euros for third. Additional awards of 100 euros will be granted to the best young contestant and the best local participant in each category.
