Tomelloso institute to launch new wine and agro-food training program

The IES Francisco García Pavón in Tomelloso will launch a new professional certification program focused on the agro-food and wine sectors. Starting in October and running through May, the 600-hour course is designed to align vocational training with the specific economic needs of the Castilla-La Mancha region.

The program offers 15 places and combines theoretical and practical instruction, including 80 hours of professional internships within local companies. This initiative, supported by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, aims to facilitate entry into the labor market by connecting students directly with the regional business fabric.

In collaboration with the Regional Institute for Agricultural, Livestock, and Forestry Research and Development (IVICAM), the curriculum will incorporate advancements in research and innovation. Officials noted that the training is particularly strategic for the province of Ciudad Real, given the significant importance of the viticulture industry in Tomelloso.
