Tomi Adeyemi cancels New York Comic Con panel

Author Tomi Adeyemi, known for ‘Children of Blood and Bone,’ has canceled her scheduled panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC). The event was intended to promote her new book, ‘The Siren,’ and was originally set for Saturday, October 10, at the Javits Center.

Reports indicate the cancellation occurred last month and was quietly removed from the NYCC schedule by organizer ReedPop without a public announcement. Representatives for Adeyemi, her agency CAA, and her publisher, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, have not yet commented on the withdrawal.

This follows Adeyemi’s previous public criticism of the film adaptation of her debut novel. In recent interviews and social media posts, she described the adaptation process as a distressing experience that caused severe anxiety and panic attacks, stating she would not consider adapting another novel into a film.
