Tomiño to receive €1.2 million for Santa María de Tebra church area

The Diputación de Pontevedra and the Tomiño City Council have signed an agreement to fund the recovery of the public space surrounding the Santa María de Tebra church. The project aims to transform the area into an accessible, safe, and pedestrian-friendly environment while preserving the site's heritage value.

The €1.2 million funding is provided by the Diputación through a combination of the Plan Provincia Extraordinaria (Plan Extra), which contributes €900,000, and the +Provincia program, which provides €260,000. The Tomiño City Council will contribute the remaining €140,000 from its own resources.

Key improvements include redesigning traffic flow to restrict vehicle access and expanding pedestrian zones. The plan features a new public plaza in front of the church to serve as a social meeting point, as well as a redesigned area in front of the cemetery with new paving, trees, and circular seating to organize the space around the local cruceiro.
