Tomioka Yours supermarket in Wakkanai transfers business to Co-op Sapporo

The Tomioka Yours supermarket in Wakkanai, operated by Hagimi Sogo Shokuhin Center, will close on the 12th, marking the end of its 40-year history since opening in 1986. The business is being transferred to Co-op Sapporo.

President Jintai Imamura cited succession issues and long-term sustainability as key factors in the decision. To ensure the store remains a local infrastructure for the community, the company entered into a business transfer agreement with Co-op Sapporo on September 8. A new Co-op Sapporo location is expected to open in early December following renovations.
