Tomislav Tomašević addresses illegal waste and leak allegations

Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević addressed several municipal issues during a recent press conference, including infrastructure updates and illegal waste disposal. Regarding waste, Tomašević stated that illegal dumping in Ježdovac has occurred for decades and characterized the activity as organized crime involving specific families, noting that municipal wardens lack the authority to resolve such matters.

He also commented on waste at the Diok site, explaining that because it is on private property, the City of Zagreb lacks jurisdiction and has been communicating with the State Inspectorate. Regarding infrastructure, he noted that most city works should be completed by the start of the school year, specifically mentioning the opening of the Savska and Vukovarska intersection.

Separately, allegations have surfaced regarding the Mayor's administration's response to information leaks. Social media reports suggest that Tomašević may have engaged private detective agencies to identify whistleblowers or individuals leaking sensitive information from the City of Zagreb. These reports claim that employee computers are being searched to find the source of such leaks.
