Tommaso Berti joins Cremonese for €2.5 million

Midfielder Tommaso Berti, 22, completes his move from Cesena to Cremonese. The deal includes a fixed fee of €2.5 million plus bonuses, making it the first summer signing for Cremonese's new sporting director Christian Botturi.

Berti, a product of the Cesena youth system and a former Fiorentina loanee, recorded four goals and seven assists in the latest Serie B season, drawing attention from several Serie A clubs including Frosinone, Sassuolo, Cagliari and Pisa. Cremonese coach Marco Giampaolo confirmed that Berti is expected to be a key creative force as the team targets promotion to Serie A.

The transfer ends a period of speculation around the promising midfielder, who had previously been linked with a move to Padova, but Cesena set a €4 million price tag that Padova could not meet.
