Tommaso Dati wins gold in Mediterranean Games road cycling

Italian cyclist Tommaso Dati won the gold medal in the men's individual road cycling event at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games. Dati secured the victory after a close sprint finish against Portuguese rider Tiago Antunes, who took the silver medal.

Federico Iacomoni completed the podium with a bronze medal, resulting in an all-Italian podium for the men's race. The event took place on the Valle d'Itria circuit in Taranto, covering 133.3 kilometers.

For Portugal, this marks Tiago Antunes' second medal of the games, following his gold medal in the individual time trial. In the women's road race, Italian athletes also dominated the podium, with Rachele Barbieri taking gold, followed by Martina Fidanza in silver and Barbara Guarischi in bronze.
