Tommy Lee Jones makes rare red carpet appearance in Austin

Actor Tommy Lee Jones made a rare red carpet appearance on October 7 in Austin, Texas, for the season two premiere of the FX series ‘The Lowdown’ at AFS Cinema. The 80-year-old actor appeared alongside co-stars Ethan Hawke and Ryan Kiera Armstrong, as well as series creator Sterlin Harjo.

Jones is set to appear in two episodes of the series, premiering October 14, playing the role of the estranged father to Ethan Hawke’s character, Lee Raybon. This marks his first major public outing since late 2023.

The appearance follows a period of personal hardship for the actor. His 34-year-old daughter, Victoria Jones, passed away on January 1 in San Francisco. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined her death was accidental, caused by the ‘toxic effects of cocaine.’
