Tommy Marqués to join Sporting de Braga in €10m transfer

Sporting de Braga has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona to sign 19-year-old midfielder Tommy Marqués. The transfer package includes a fixed fee of €10 million plus an additional €2 million in performance-related variables.

Marqués, a La Masia graduate, made two appearances for Barcelona’s first team last season, debuting against Mallorca in February. The move to the Portuguese club is intended to provide the midfielder with more regular playing time, as he has seen limited minutes under head coach Hansi Flick following Barcelona's pursuit of other midfield reinforcements.

Braga, which finished fourth in the Portuguese top flight last season, currently features several Spanish players and is competing in European qualifying competitions.
