Tommy Robinson begins trial over alleged harassment of journalists

The trial of far-right activist Tommy Robinson, born Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has commenced at Southwark Crown Court. Robinson faces two counts of harassment causing fear of violence against MailOnline reporters Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber.

Prosecutors allege that between August 5 and 7, 2024, Robinson used his X account to intimidate the journalists following an article regarding his whereabouts in Cyprus. The prosecution claims Robinson used ‘bully-boy, intimidatory tactics,’ including circulating images of the reporters' homes to his millions of followers, which led to supporters threatening them and forcing some to seek security or leave their homes.

Robinson has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His defense maintains that his family was placed in danger by the actions of the Daily Mail.
