Tommy Tuberville outlines infrastructure and governance priorities
Tommy Tuberville has released a policy manual titled the “Back to Basics” playbook to guide his administration should he be elected governor. A primary focus of the document is a major infrastructure initiative to widen Interstate 65.
Tuberville’s budget proposal prioritizes a funded plan to expand Interstate 65 to three lanes in each direction from the Tennessee state line to Mobile within his first year. The plan aims to address traffic congestion on the 366-mile interstate, which serves as a vital commerce artery and hurricane evacuation route. The playbook states that after the initial I-65 expansion, the administration will work to widen other major interstates annually.
The policy manual also outlines an ambitious goal to reshape and refocus state government operations within a single calendar year. While the plan is described as highly ambitious, it focuses on addressing existing state issues rather than relying on partisan rhetoric.
