Tommy Tuberville pledges four-year electricity rate freeze
Alabama gubernatorial candidate Tommy Tuberville has pledged to implement a four-year freeze on electricity rates if elected. He argues that the state can continue to expand its data center infrastructure without increasing power costs for residents.
Tuberville stated that the development of data centers can provide monthly financial benefits to local counties and cities, which can be used to fund schools, police, and other community services. He noted that the location of these centers is a local decision rather than a gubernatorial one. Additionally, Tuberville mentioned his role as a co-sponsor of the Ratepayer Protection Act, which recently passed the U.S. House.
