Tomo Medved honors HVO role in Bosnia and Herzegovina survival
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Tomo Medved stated in Posušje that the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) played a decisive role in the survival of Croats and Bosnia and Herzegovina. During a ceremony marking the 32nd anniversary of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the HVO Herceg-Bosna, gratitude was expressed to 31 units, including 29 home guard regiments and two HVO battalions, for their role in operations vital to the territorial integrity of Croatia and the existence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Medved emphasized that the equality and security of the Croat people must be a fundamental right, asserting that there can be no stable or just Bosnia and Herzegovina without the full constitutional and actual equality of Croats as a constituent people.
Additionally, Medved noted that the Croatian Parliament will discuss amendments to two laws concerning the pension rights of Croatian veterans next week. These changes are intended to increase pension amounts and are expected to affect more than 200,000 veterans, including members and victims of the HVO.
