Tomonari Hashimoto solo exhibition to open at PARCEL in Tokyo

Ceramic artist Tomonari Hashimoto will hold a solo exhibition titled ‘Yet, yet again.’ at the PARCEL gallery in Nihonbashi Bakurocho, Tokyo, from September 12 to October 18, 2026.

Based in Shigaraki, Hashimoto is known for creating large-scale geometric ceramic sculptures, including spheres and rectangular forms exceeding two meters in height. This exhibition marks his first solo show at PARCEL in approximately four years.

In this new series, Hashimoto moves away from the vibrant colors produced by the metallic glazes that previously defined his work. Instead, he focuses on a ‘white’ theme, stripping away information to re-examine the relationship between form and the raw material of clay. The works aim to highlight the traces of the artist's physical process and the inherent qualities of the material.
